Getting Started

Download the IntimID app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app and register with your email address. The app will generate a unique, anonymous user ID with technical controls preventing linkage to your email. You'll then set up biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) for security. Your health data is associated only with your anonymous user ID, not your email address.

Biometric authentication uses your Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint to unlock the app. This helps ensure that only you can access your sensitive health information. It's required because IntimID handles private data that benefits from strong security protection.

Currently, IntimID stores all health data locally on your device for maximum privacy. You can log into your account on multiple devices using your email, but each device maintains its own local health data storage. We are developing a secure sync feature that will maintain our privacy-first approach while allowing optional data synchronization across devices.

Privacy & Security

Your data is protected with HMAC-SHA256 encryption and stored using a hybrid privacy architecture. Health data stays encrypted exclusively on your device, while only essential account information (email and anonymous IntimID) is stored securely in cloud services for functionality.

IntimID requires your email address for account creation and recovery, but we implement a pseudonymous system with technical controls. Your email is never linked to your health data or user activity. All health information is associated with an anonymous user ID that cannot be traced back to your email. We don't use third-party analytics, tracking, or behavioral monitoring.

Your data is encrypted with device-specific keys and protected by biometric authentication. Even if someone gains physical access to your device, they cannot access your IntimID data without your biometric authentication. However, since health data is stored locally for privacy, you will need to set up IntimID again on a new device.

Test Tracking

IntimID supports tracking for all major STD tests including HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HPV, Herpes HSV-1, Herpes HSV-2, and Trichomoniasis. You can record test dates, results, and set reminders for future testing.

IntimID includes an optional GPS-based clinic finder to help you locate nearby testing facilities. Some participating clinics may provide QR codes that can link to your test results with your explicit consent. This integration is completely optional and always requires your explicit approval for each data sharing instance.

The risk assessment algorithm analyzes your testing history, activity patterns, and risk factors to provide personalized health recommendations. All calculations are performed locally on your device using established medical guidelines and research-based protocols. No data is transmitted to external servers for processing.

Troubleshooting

Try restarting your device first. If the problem persists, ensure you have the latest version of the app installed and verify your device meets the minimum system requirements (iOS 12+ or Android 5.0+). If issues continue, you may need to reinstall the app, though this will require setting up your health data again due to our local storage approach.

Ensure biometric authentication is enabled in your device settings. Clean your device's biometric sensors and ensure your hands/face are clean and well-lit. If you recently changed your biometric data in device settings, you may need to re-authenticate in IntimID.

IntimID features are organized into clear sections: Dashboard, Health Analytics, Test Management, Activity Tracking, and Settings. Use the search function within the app or check the Settings menu for privacy and security options.
